Police arrest man who allegedly hit police car, other vehicles

1 min read

PITTSBURGH (AP) – Authorities say they’ve captured a man who failed to show up for trial on charges he robbed a Pittsburgh store and then crashed into cars while trying to avoid arrest.

Allegheny County sheriff’s deputies and Pittsburgh police SWAT officers took 45-year-old Derrick Ingram into custody around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A judge had revoked Ingram’s bond after he failed to appear at his July trial on charges of aggravated assault, receiving stolen property and reckless endangerment.

Police say Ingram hit a police car and several other vehicles after he and another person stole merchandise from a Family Dollar.

Police on Wednesday charged the Homestead man with burglary, criminal trespass, failure to appear, fleeing to avoid apprehension and other offenses.

A public defender listed for Ingram didn’t immediately return a telephone message.
