SHARON (AP) – A Pennsylvania woman accused of killing her husband and then shooting herself was released from an Ohio hospital.

Sharon police charged 46-year-old Amy Emmett with first- and third-degree murder in the July 26 shooting of her 45-year-old husband, William.

That occurred in the Sharon Regional Health System lot about 60 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, not far from the Ohio border.

Emmett was hospitalized at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Authorities said she was released Wednesday and taken to the jail in Mahoning County, Ohio, while awaiting extradition.

Mercer County, Pennsylvania, District Attorney Robert Kochems said Emmett’s preliminary hearing will likely be scheduled within 10 days of her medical clearance.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for her.
