Police use helicopter, K-9 after suspect bails near highway

1 min read

MILLVALE (AP) – Police from several jurisdictions were searching for a suspect who bailed out of his car and ran away near the on-ramp to a busy highway in the Pittsburgh suburbs.

Police haven’t released the name of the suspect who is reportedly wanted on drug and assault charges and led police on a high-speed chase that ended near the ramp to Route 28 in Millvale during Friday morning’s rush hour.

Police say the suspect’s car hit at least one police vehicle and several other cars before he bailed out and ran away.

Millvale, like several other suburbs along the highway that runs east out of Pittsburgh, is next to heavy woods and hills.

A state police helicopter and at least one police dog have been called in to help with the search.
