POTTSVILLE (AP) – Two men were charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a man found lying in an eastern Pennsylvania street before dawn.

Authorities in Schuylkill County said 18-year-old Joshua Lukach and 21-year-old Shavinskin Thomas also face charges including aggravated assault and robbery.

Investigators allege the Pottsville men went to the home of 59-year-old John Brock early Thursday to rob him, but decided to kill him after he saw their faces.

Police allege they stabbed and slashed Brock with a kitchen knife and a box cutter before fleeing with $200 and an ATM card they used to withdraw $60 for food and lottery tickets.

The defendants remained in custody without bail; listed numbers for them couldn’t be found Sunday and it was unclear whether they had attorneys.
