Man shot, wounded in Canton; suspect arrested

A Washington man was shot in the abdomen Saturday evening in Canton Township.

John Raymond Dingle Jr., 45, was shot about 7:30 p.m. at 20 Hilltop Lane, according to state police. He was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, which police did not specify.

Dingle was released Sunday afternoon after treatment for a superficial wound, police said. Police reported Suehr shot Dingle in the abdomen during an altercation.

Michael P. Suehr, 57, of Pittsburgh, was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on a charge of aggravated assault.

He was released from Washington County jail Sunday afternoon after posting $50,000 bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 19 before District Judge David Mark.
