A Union Township man who became angry when his brother didn’t save him a Big Mac allegedly ransacked a home at 6070 Pleasant St., threw food and then assaulted the man, state police said.

Thomas Veres, 47, was arrested on charges of simple assault and harassment after the incident about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday at his home.

State police said Veres was irate when he came home and discovered his 58-year-old brother, Matthew Veres, had eaten all three Big Macs and did not save one for him. Police said the younger Veres reportedly ransacked the house, knocking over furniture and appliances and throwing food.

Matthew Veres suffered bruises to his right eye and left cheek and cuts on his ear.

Thomas Veres was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in the Washington County Jail on $2,500 bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 25 before District Judge David Mark.
