Make-A-Wish seeking volunteers for training session

Make-A-Wish is looking for volunteers in this area who are at least 21 years old and can attend a training session in Pittsburgh later this year.

The next training session is Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Gulf Tower at 707 Grant St. in Pittsburgh.

“Wish team” members are volunteers are assigned to children in their area to meet one-on-one with the child and his or her family to help determine what a suitable “wish” is for that child.

People wishing to volunteer should call Amanda Filsinger at the Make-A-Wish office in Pittsburgh at 412-471-9474 or email afilsinger@pawv.wish.org to begin the application process.

Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia is a non-profit organization that grants wishes to children, ages 2 ½ to 18, who have life-threatening medical conditions.
