Police: Doctor found slain at Western Pennsylvania home

SHARON (AP) – A 65-year-old doctor who practiced geriatric medicine has been found dead in her home and authorities are treating it as a homicide.

The Mercer County coroner’s office says an autopsy was set Thursday on the body of 65-year-old Dr. Mary Bovier, of Sharon.

Police have interviewed a close friend of the doctor’s who lives nearby, but police haven’t said whether anyone is a suspect or will be charged in the woman’s death.

Police say it appears the doctor had been stabbed. Her body was found Wednesday.
