Four charged in area thefts

Four women were charged this week by South Strabane Township police for their alleged role in thefts from two businesses.

Sandra Marie Young, 44, of 905 Old West Road, Bentleyville, and Windy Lee Baker, 32, of 902 Old West Road, Bentleyville, were charged in the theft of items from Kohl’s, Strabane Square. Young is charged with theft by deception for allegedly returning items July 29 that were reportedly stolen by Baker for a gift card. Baker is charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing items valued at $407 between July 24 and 26.

Amber Rizor, 29, of 217 Third St., Washington, and Geraldine Garrett, 69, of 210 Key Ave., Washington, are each charged with retail theft. The two are accused of failing to ring up 33 items valued at $205 at the self-checkout at Walmart, Trinity Point, Tuesday.

The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
