A Cokeburg woman accused of setting up bogus Xpressbet accounts at The Meadows Racetrack as well as one of the four women accused of withdrawing money from those accounts waived their cases to court Tuesday while a third was arraigned on the theft-related charges Monday.

Kari Lynn Watson, 32, of 121 Lincoln St., had a charge of unlawful use of a computer withdrawn by the prosecution. She waived charges of theft, tampering with records, conspiracy, theft by deception and computer trespass filed by North Strabane Township police last month. Watson, who is free on $100,000 bond, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Jay Weller.

Ashley Marie Webb, 26, of Pittsburgh, waived charges of theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy after a charge of theft by deception was withdrawn. She is in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond as well as outstanding warrants.

Tammy Lynn Smith, 42, of Carnegie, was arraigned Monday before District Judge David Mark on charges of theft, conspiracy, theft be deception and receiving stolen property. She was released on $25,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Weller Aug. 25.

Two other codefendants, Jawanna Lynn Raines, 39, and Monica Lee Brookins, 28, also of Pittsburgh, waived their charges to court last month.

Watson, who was an Xpressbet employee, is accused of setting up the bogus accounts and crediting those accounts with nonexistent money that was allegedly withdrawn by the four other women.

The financial officer at Xpressbet told police investigator Nathan Terling Watson had the authority to override a required credit check when accounts are opened as well as credit accounts with funds and change or alter personal demographics of customer’s accounts.
