1 min read

WAYNESBURG – The couple accused of robbing Rush Grocery Store in Rogersville last month was ordered to stand trial during a preliminary hearing Wednesday morning.

District Judge Louis Dayich held Curtis M. Vanbuskirk for court on charges of robbery, terroristic threats and theft in the July 27 robbery in which $100 was stolen.

His girlfriend, Michelle L. Cain, 26, of Cameron, W.Va., was held for court on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and theft. Dayich dismissed a terroristic threats charge.

Vanbuskirk, 26, of Holbrook, remains jailed on $30,000 bond, while Cain’s bail was reduced to $10,000 unsecured.

State police said Vanbuskirk robbed the store while Cain was waiting in a pickup truck outside. Police arrested them Aug. 7.

Their formal arraignment on the charges has not been scheduled.
