Police beat Aug. 20
Computer stolen: Melissa Sodano of Canonsburg told Canonsburg police Tuesday a HP Pavilion computer she dropped off at the FedEx drop box on Four Coins Drive was apparently stolen. There was no record of it being dropped off and it never made it to its destination in Philadelphia.
Handgun stolen: Richard B. Boyer told Canonsburg police Tuesday his 9mm handgun was stolen from a cabinet in his office at Exchange Underwriters, 121 W. Pike St.
PFA violation: William Summers, 33, of 123 Church Way, Canonsburg, was charged with violating a protection from abuse order early Wednesday by going to the home he shared with Courtney Gongaware after she got the order earlier this month. He was taken for evaluation after threatening to harm himself. The charge was filed at the office of District Judge David Mark.
Unsworn falsification: Chicuelo J. Correz, 37, of 334 Castle Road, Washington, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge David Mark on charges of unsworn falsification and illegal sale or transfer of a gun after he reportedly provided false information on a gun purchase application March 4 at Reeves Sports Shop, 1943 W. Chestnut St., Canton. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
Charged in stop: John T. Kelley, 47, of Washington, faces charges of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and driving under suspension after he was stopped near Jessop Place, Canton, Tuesday night, state police said.
Trucker faces charges: Dale Shere Jr. of Galena, Kan., faces charges of not having his vehicle registered, weight violations and having faulty tires after he pulled down telephone, electric and cable lines as well as the utility pole on Casey Road off Pleasant Road Monday afternoon, Mt. Pleasant police said. He told police he missed his turn and was following his GPS. Police Chief Lou McQuillan said the road was closed for several hours until the truck could be backed down and the pole reset. The Smith Township police motor carrier enforcement officer assisted.
DUI charge: Mark Tallerico, 25, of Bridgeville, will be charged by Mt. Pleasant police with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was found about 2:20 a.m. Sunday passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle in the 1000 block of Burgettstown Road (Route 18).
W.Va. man arrested: Nathan T. Lambert, 29, of Morgantown, W.Va., was arrested Tuesday morning by North Strabane police after he was found with a 2015 Toyota Corolla reported stolen to Morgantown police. Morgantown police asked North Strabane police to check the lot at Candlewood Suites, 255 Meadowlands Blvd. The car was found in the lot and Lambert in a room. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on a charge of receiving stolen property and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Tire damaged: Joseph Moreland of Washington told South Strabane police a tire was cut on his vehicle Tuesday while parked behind Pancake Inn, East Maiden Street.
Woman assaulted: Anthony A. Keys, 45, of 705 N. Franklin St., Washington, is charged by city police with simple assault, accused of punching Michelle Parkinson in the head and kicking her in the back about 12:45 a.m. Aug. 10, court records show.
Theft case: James Nixon, age unknown, of 34 Walker Hill Road, Avella, is charged by city police with two counts of theft, accused of bilking a woman out of nearly $3,500 by failing to paint house siding in the 300 block of Burton Avenue by 10:40 a.m. Aug. 5, court records show.
Woman assaulted: Larry E. Thompson, 26, of 501 Fayette St., Washington, is charged by city police with simple assault and trespassing, court records show. He is accused of forcing his way into 441 Extension Ave. and punching Jessica Mastic in the head about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
House burglarized: Shellisa Chandler, 340 ½ E. Prospect Ave., told Washington police a stereo system, 6-disc CD changer with speakers, iPod port, two, 46-inch televisions and Xfinity security system were stolen in a burglary of her home.
Copper stolen: Lisa Freis of Pittsburgh told Washington police Tuesday copper pipe was stolen from her mother’s home in the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue.
Theft, marijuana charges: Louis J. Marrero of Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested Tuesday by state police on charges of retail theft and possession of marijuana after he reportedly stole crew shirts and Playstation 4 games from Walmart, West Brownsville. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
