Cecil supervisor candidate death prompts call for nominee
The Washington County elections office confirmed that the sudden death of Gary Andreis, a Democratic candidate for Cecil Township supervisor, on Aug. 12 has forced county Democrats to find a replacement on the ballot.
A Monday advertisement asks for registered Democrats who live in Cecil to call Democratic Committee Chairman Ron Sicchitano by midnight tonight. The number to call is 724-945-6193. As of Thursday, three people had submitted their nominations: David Bradwell, Frank Smith and David Williams Sr.
“Everyone who is nominated will have to address the Democratic committee, which we’re trying to get together within the next week or so, but no date is set yet,” said Sicchitano.
