Officials: 24-year-old man fatally shot on the Parkway East
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pennsylvania State Police and the Pittsburgh Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting on the Parkway East that claimed the life of a 24-year-old man.
The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office says Shaka McGhie was shot around 11 p.m. Sunday in an inbound lane of the highway near the Churchill exit.
Officials say the Forest Hills resident was taken by a private vehicle to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, where he was pronounced dead at 11:37 p.m.
Authorities say the incident is related to a crime scene on the parkway, which is patrolled by state police.
No arrests have been made.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
