State police bust pot-growing operation

1 min read

State police busted an outdoor marijuana growing operation in Monongahela Township this weekend.

Sgt. Steve Dowlin said state police found the operation Sunday near Sugar Grove Road and Route 88.

Troopers confiscated 20 marijuana plants, although no suspects have been identified, he said. They were tipped off about the operation by a confidential informant, he said.

Troopers from barracks in Waynesburg and Belle Vernon participated in the raid.

“We worked hand in hand to try to combat our drug problem in the county,” Dowlin said.
