Police beat Aug. 27
Harassment citation: Cassy N. Goodwin, 34, of 205 S. Main St., Point Marion, was cited for harassment after state police said she struck and grabbed another woman Aug. 16 in the 300 block of West Greene Street in Carmichaels.
Harrassment citation: Samantha Ann Burroughs, 35, of 52 W. Greene St., Waynesburg, was cited for harassment after state police said she punched a woman in the face Aug. 17 while at 207 Newtown Village in Dunkard Township.
Disorderly conduct: Larry R. Varner, 75, of 150 Bedillion Road, Waynesburg, was cited for disorderly conduct after state police said he was loud and engaging in threatening behavior while at Greene County Airport about noon Saturday.
Items stolen: State police said a purse and shoes were stolen about 3 p.m. Saturday from a car parked at the Ron Lewis car dealership along Route 21 in Franklin Township.
Drug charges: Demitrius Lamont Davis, 37, of 56 Reesman Trailer Park, Waynesburg, was charged Monday with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver and one charge of possession of a controlled substance after state police said he sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant in Jefferson Borough Feb. 5, 2014. Davis was arraigned Tuesday by District Judge Glenn Bates and taken to Greene County jail on $15,000 bond.
Burglary charges: State police Monday filed charges against Phillip H. Stanger, 29, no address, after he allegedly entered two A Street residences in Morgan Township June 24 and stole guns and coins. Police charged Stanger with two counts each of burglary, trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property.
Attempted burglary: Two people used a cinderblock to break through the front door to Hopkins Store in Nineveh about 2 a.m. Tuesday, state police said. A neighbor saw the incident and scared the two would-be burglars away before they could enter the building, police said.
Home burglary: A Smith Creek Road home in Spraggs was burglarized Tuesday when someone kicked in the back door and entered the property, Southwest Regional police said. Police did not say if anything was taken from the residence.
Crash injures two: Two people suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday at Morgan and Greene streets. Waynesburg police said Johnnie Flanigan, 74, of Rogersville failed to stop for a red light on Greene Street. His pickup truck collided with a car traveling south on Morgan driven by Cherie Brasile, 49, of Waynesburg. Flanigan was taken to Washington Hospital, police said. A juvenile in Brasile’s car was treated at WHS-Greene hospital.
