Pair face drug charges

1 min read

Two people found staying in a tent at the American Legion picnic grounds off Western Avenue in Chartiers Township last week were arraigned Thursday on drug charges before District Judge David Mark.

Nicholas A. Gervasio, 34, of 140 Pike St., Houston, was charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin. Brandy Alderson, 33, whose last known address was on Wren Way in South Strabane Township, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chartiers Township police got a tip from Washington County adult probation that the two were living in the pavilion behind the Legion on Aug. 20. Police and probation officers checked the area and said they found the pair had a tent set up in a wooded area near a creek.

Gervasio allegedly had 82 stamp bags of suspected heroin. Alderson had needles, police said. The two were taken into custody and placed in Washington County jail on probation violations. Mark set bond at $25,000 for Gervasio and $10,000 for Alderson.
