Police: Carjacking, kidnapping suspect left prison ID behind

1 min read

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Philadelphia police are looking for a carjacking suspect whom they say left a prison ID behind.

Police say the incident began around 12:45 a.m. Friday when a man was pulled over for driving erratically on South 17th Street.

As officers approached the vehicle, police say the suspect sped off and crashed into several parked cars along Camac Street.

Police say the suspect pulled a male driver out of a nearby car and drove away with two female passengers still in the backseat.

Police say the suspect dumped the car at the intersection of 5th and Shunk streets but left an inmate identification card in the stolen vehicle.

Chief Inspector Scott Small says the picture matched up with the person initially pulled over.
