Nemacolin man wanted in bank robbery
An arrest warrant was issued Monday for a Nemacolin man accused of robbing a Fayette County bank at gunpoint last month.
State police said Michael Paul Bowman, 36, went into PNC Bank at 103 Integra St. near Brownsville shortly after the bank opened Nov. 25, pulled out a pistol and demanded money.
Bowman placed the gun on the counter and pointed it at a teller, before allegedly telling the employee to “make it easy and quietly,” according to court documents. He then told the worker to pull out all of the money in her drawer, which she did, and he left with $1,246 in cash, police said.
Investigators were able to identify Bowman, whose last known address is 178 March Ave., Nemacolin, using surveillance video from the bank.
The robber had two hoods pulled over his head – one from a blue sweatshirt and the other from a tan jacket – when he entered the bank, police said.
But as he walked inside, an employee asked him to pull the hoods back, which he did.
State police filed a warrant for Bowman’s arrest Monday with District Judge Michael DeFino in Redstone Township. Bowman faces felony charges of robbery, possession of a prohibited firearm and carrying a firearm without a license, along with misdemeanor charges of theft, receiving stolen property, reckless endangerment, possessing an instrument of crime, weapons possession, simple assault and harassment.
Anyone with information on Bowman’s location is asked to call state police at 724-929-6262.
