A Slovan woman was killed late Friday night when the vehicle she was driving struck the Smith Township Municipal Building.
According to Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco, Rhonda Lanham, 45, was traveling southbound on Route 18 when she lost control of her Dodge Dakota, crossed the center line and struck the municipal building about 10:45 p.m. The coroner’s report said the cause of death is pending.
The accident is being investigated by Smith Township police. Assisting on the scene were the Slovan and Midway fire departments, Mt. Pleasant and McDonald police departments and Ambulance & Chair Service.
