Police beat Dec. 23
Trespass charge: Brittany Nicole Nichols, 23, of Philadelphia, was arrested Sunday for criminal trespass after she refused to leave a California University student’s apartment on Third Street, police said. Nichols also was charged with resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
Gun theft alleged: Joshua Cowden, 25, of 50 Maple St., Muse, was arrested Monday on charges of theft, drug possession and paraphernalia possession after he allegedly stole two pistols from the vehicle of his girlfriend’s father on Maple and sold them for heroin. Cecil police said they used text messages between Cowden and another person to confirm he was stealing the guns to trade for heroin, and police said they found needles and heroin at his home. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Drug charges: Jessica Lynn Smith, 22, of 2313 Bailey Ave., McKeesport, was arrested Monday on three counts of drug possession. Police were serving a warrant and found her with heroin, according to court documents.
Theft: Harold Sumney Jr. of Buffalo Township reported the theft of the tailgate from his white 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 truck, state police said. The theft happened Sunday or Monday. The tailgate has paint bubbles on it.
Assault charges: Cedric Anthony Harrison of Third Street, Hiller, was arrested Monday at Hiller Fire Department on charges of simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief after he allegedly slapped and threw a car seat at a woman at a toll stop in California, state police said.
Theft: Erica Lenzi, 31, of Stone Church Road, reported to Southwest Regional Police Monday a UPS package containing a briefcase valued at $425 was stolen from her home.
Mannequins stolen: Amy Steele, 41, of Orchard Ave., reported to Southwest Regional Police Sunday someone stole Disney Christmas mannequins including Mickey, Minnie and Pluto from her property.
Burglary arrests: Brian Jay Hunt, 30, and Jessica L. Toussant, who police said are homeless, were arrested Monday on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property and drug possession after allegedly breaking into a home at 42 Roberts Road, according to court documents. The residents reported $700, several pieces of jewelry and a quilt were stolen. Police said the two were tracked to a Motel 6 and were found with several of the items, as well as a crack pipe. They were placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bonds after arraignment before District Judge Jay Weller.
Drug charges: Timothy Romanetti Jr., 19, of 206 Agape Road, Hickory, is facing charges of possession of marijuana and cocaine. Washington police said they observed someone walking away from Romanetti’s vehicle while it was parked in the viaduct off Jefferson Avenue after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police said the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and found marijuana and an open bottle of alcohol inside. After placing Romanetti under arrest, police said they found cocaine and $1,290 in his clothes. He was taken to the police station and released to a family member. Charges will be sent by summons.
