Police probe shooting death in Pittsburgh neighborhood
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Police in Western Pennsylvania are trying to find out who killed an 18-year-old who was gunned down on a Pittsburgh street on Christmas Eve.
The Pittsburgh public safety department said officers were called to the Garfield neighborhood shortly before noon Thursday and found a male victim “lying in the middle of the street with at least one gunshot wound to the head.”
The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office identified him as 18-year-old Carlos Clark. An autopsy is scheduled Saturday.
Investigators said they were looking for a vehicle seen fleeing the area.
Public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said the shooting apparently stemmed from what she called a “large street fight” that broke out in the area.
