Fugitive wanted in two states nabbed in Smith Township

A Coraopolis man wanted in two southern states was taken into custody following a crash Tuesday in Smith Township.
State police said the warrants for Jeffrey Reed Tucker’s capture were discovered after the vehicle he was driving was involved in an accident along Route 22, seven miles away from the West Virginia line.
Tucker, 34, is wanted in Lowndes County, Mississippi, for violating his probation in a May 2013 conviction of possession of ingredients needed to make methamphetamine, court records show.
He violated his parole by being arrested May 30 in Marion County, Alabama, on charges of burglary, theft and possession of a forged instrument, court records show. He also is accused of failing to report to court after his release in that case on $15,000 bond.
Tucker is expected to be extradited to Mississippi within 30 days of his detainment in Washington County on a charge of arrest prior to requisition.
He was sent to Washington County jail without bond early Wednesday following his arraignment before District Judge Mark Wilson.
