Washington man faces indecent assault charges
A Washington man faces indecent assault charges for allegedly fondling two girls on two separate occasions in the last five years, Washington police said.
Jesse Garfield Lowther Jr., 55, of 520 Fayette St., was charged with aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault of a person under the age of 13. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
The girls, who both live in Washington, were under the age of 13 during the alleged assaults at Lowther’s home. Police said the mother of one of the girls recently learned of the alleged incident. The girl reported Lowther fondled her on one occasion in 2013 or 2014.
After the initial report, a second girl made allegations against Lowther. She told police she was awakened by Lowther fondling her in 2010 or 2011.
Police said Lowther acknowledged having engaged in the alleged acts.
