A Washington man was arrested Friday on a warrant obtained by state police in connection with a Nov. 28 home invasion at a Canton Township residence.

Harry Walter DeBolt Jr., 148 ½ Scott Ave., is accused of forcing his way into the home of Angela Gillespie on Wilmington Street.

Gillespie told police she was in her living room when DeBolt allegedly kicked in the front door. He entered her house and demanded she give him her money. When she told him she had no money, DeBolt allegedly shoved her. Gillespie fell, hitting her head on the floor.

Randy Riffle told police he was in a bedroom when he heard a loud noise. He went into the living room and saw DeBolt.

DeBolt then allegedly dumped Gillespie’s purse on the floor and went through it. He allegedly took $50. Riffle told police he grabbed DeBolt’s arm in an attempt to stop him, but was struck in the face by DeBolt. DeBolt then ran from the residence.

DeBolt was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, robbery, theft, simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment. He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 12 before District Judge David Mark.
