Woman charged with hiding fugitive son
A Donora woman has been arrested on accusations she hid her fugitive son who was wanted by Pittsburgh police on charges he assaulted a baby last month.
Donora police charged Jaqueline Frameli, 57, with hindering the apprehension of Anthony Paul Frameli, who was arrested on a warrant Thursday after borough police found him in his mother’s apartment, court records state.
The younger Frameli is in Allegheny County jail on $50,000 bond facing charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a 6-month-old child Jan. 28 in the city’s Crescent Heights section, court records indicate.
Anthony Frameli was taking care of his girlfriend’s baby while she was out. He said he slipped on some ice and fell on top of the baby, causing his injuries, said Sonya Toler, spokeswoman for Pittsburgh police. She said the baby’s injuries did not match his explanation.
His mother is in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Mark Wilson in Monongahela.
Borough police said an officer went to Jaqueline Frameli’s apartment at 656 McKean Ave. while attempting to serve a warrant on her son about 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Her roommate directed police to a local bar, where she stated her son had left earlier in the day for Pittsburgh.
She told police she would contact the police department if she heard from her son or if he returned to her residence, the affidavit indicates.
Police later received a tip that Anthony Frameli, 21, also of Donora, had returned to his mother’s apartment, where they found him standing behind her in a bedroom. He was taken into custody without incident, police stated.
