Pa. dance instructor accused of sending explicit texts to child

BRADDOCK HILLS (AP) – A Pittsburgh-area charter school has fired a dance instructor who’s accused of sending explicit text messages to a 13-year-old student.

Propel Braddock Hills Middle School tells WPXI-TV it terminated 22-year-old Jameson Corrie after his December arrest.

Corrie is charged with corruption of minors, criminal solicitation and unlawful contact with a child. He’s free pending a Feb. 26 court appearance.

Corrie’s lawyer declined comment Thursday.

Police say the dance instructor mentioned texts, phone calls and nude pictures in his messages and warned the student not to tell anyone they communicated outside of school.

Corrie worked for the school through Pittsburgh Musical Theater and that he’d passed a background check. The organization says it’s ended its relationship with Corrie.
