Judge: Teen can be tried as adult in murder case

1 min read

CINCINNATI (AP) – A teenage murder suspect charged with additional counts after authorities said he escaped from custody at an Ohio hospital and abducted a 70-year-old woman before his capture can be tried as an adult on the murder charge.

A Clark County Juvenile Court judge ruled Thursday in the case of a 17-year-old boy charged with a juvenile count of murder in the Jan. 14 shooting of Fairborn resident William Henson. A message was left Friday for the teen’s attorney.

The teen was charged with other juvenile counts including escape and kidnapping after authorities said he escaped Jan. 30 from a hospital where he was transferred with an ankle injury they believe was faked. A judge hasn’t ruled whether the teen can be tried as an adult on the other counts.
