Local driver dies of heart attack, says autopsy

1 min read

A Washington man suffered a heart attack and died Friday afternoon before crashing on the Parkway West in Rosslyn Farms, the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office said.

Joseph D. Ardeno Sr., 67, died at the scene following the “medical emergency” and crash about 2 p.m., the medical examiner said.

He was driving east on the Parkway West when his vehicle went out of control and struck a berm near the Rosslyn Farms exit, the medical examiner said.

State police at the Moon Township barracks, who are investigating the crash, said they had no report on the accident.

An autopsy performed by the medical examiner’s staff Saturday afternoon revealed the heart attack and ruled Ardeno died of natural causes.
