Clarion University police investigating sex assault report
CLARION (AP) – Clarion University police are investigating a reported sexual assault of a female student on campus.
Police said a female student reported the incident between 1:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Monday. She said a man asked her for directions before pushing her up against a wall and assaulting her.
Police have not charged anyone and were continuing to search for the suspect Wednesday. Spokesman David Love won’t release other details of the incident, including the exact nature of the assault.
The school 70 miles northeast of Pittsburgh is one of 14 publicly owned universities in the State System of Higher Education.
The school has an enrollment of about 6,000, and is in town of about the same number of residents.
University officials alerted students to the report.
