WAYNESBURG – Greene County Controller Dave Balint announced Monday he is seeking re-election to a third, four-year term.

Balint, a Democrat, held the position of controller since 2008. Prior to being elected, Balint served as Greene County’s deputy controller since 2004 and county auditor since 2001.

A native of Greene County, Balint is a graduate of Waynesburg Central High School and Waynesburg University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration, majoring in accounting with a minor in business management. He also is a certified public accountant licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.

He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

“I believe my experience, education and professional certifications will enable me to continue to perform the duties of the office of controller capably and with the highest degree of integrity,” Balint said. “I am hopeful that the citizens of Greene County will once again afford me that opportunity.”

Balint is a member of Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department and treasurer of Greene County Democratic Party. He previously served on the boards of Bowlby Public Library and Corner Cupboard Food Bank and is a former treasurer and trustee of Washington Street United Methodist Church.

Balint lives in Waynesburg with his wife, Kayla, and their two sons, Beau and Bryce.
