Van rolls: Jeffrey Florian, 31, of Washington, escaped injury Thursday when his van went off S Bridge Road, Buffalo, hit a rock embankment and rolled on its roof, state police said.

Car damaged: Frances Weidart of 12 Tope St., Burgettstown, told McDonald police Friday the rear window of his car was broken. There also was a large dent on the roof. Police saw a brick next to the vehicle.

Resisting, theft arrest: Charissa Haff, 24, of Havre de Grace, Md., was arrested early Saturday by California police for allegedly creating a disturbance at an apartment on Fifth Street. She allegedly damaged property and stole some of their property as she was leaving. She also reportedly resisted efforts by police to take her into custody. She was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis on charges of resisting arrest, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, theft and receiving stolen property. She was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.

Attempted break-in: Amanda Diaz of 140 Station St. told McDonald police Saturday an attempt was made to force open a basement door in her apartment building.

Mischief charge: Christian Habbestad, 19, of 307 Dickson St., Midway, will be charged by McDonald police with criminal mischief for allegedly breaking a front window, back door window, television set, dining room chair and a telephone during an incident Friday at his mother’s home at 307 Dickson.

Clothing stolen: Daniel C. Jordan, 33, of Pittsburgh, was charged by North Franklin police Thursday with two counts of retail theft for allegedly stealing men’s clothing valued at $508 from Macy’s, Washington Crown Center, on two occasions in January. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Cruiser hit: A North Strabane police cruiser was struck Friday afternoon when another driver made a U-turn in front of an officer. Police said Officer Michael Miller was driving north in the left lane approaching Weavertown Road when a southbound vehicle driven by Guolai Wang, 50, of 1720 Painters Run Road, Upper St. Clair, made a U-turn at the intersection. Neither driver was injured. The vehicles did not have to be towed.

Driver injured: Baher Nab Wabba, 38, of Greensburg, was injured Thursday morning when his car went off the 900 block of Thomas-Eighty Four Road, hit a tree and rolled over, North Strabane police said. He was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment of a hand injury. He will be cited with failing to drive at a safe speed.

Burglary reported: Vehicle batteries were reported stolen Friday in a break-in of a storage unit at Racetrack Self-Storage, 1425 Washington Road, North Strabane police said. The batteries are owned by a company that subcontracts to AAA. There were 28 used cores and 21 new batteries stolen.

Crash into creek: A 2011 Honda Civic driven by Kaylee McFalls, 23, of McVey Street, Sturgeon, had to be towed following a one-car accident that occurred Sunday at Circle and Bellwalt drives in McMurray. Police said McFalls, who was not injured, was eastbound on Bellwalt and slid downhill on ice and slush into a nearby creek.

Juveniles to be charged: Peters Township police will file charges against two 17-year-olds for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. Police said a vehicle with two people inside was parked in front of a home on Church Hill Drive in Venetia early Sunday morning. Because of the extremely cold weather, an officer stopped to investigate and detected the odor of marijuana inside the car.

Retail theft charge: David A. Kincaid, 20, of Washington Trails, Washington, was arrested Friday and charged with retail theft from Kmart on Washington Road. Police said Kincaid was observed by Kmart loss-prevention officers putting a calculator in his jacket. Kincaid was stopped and asked to open his jacket, and store employees told police they found Kincaid also had dental strips, hair gel, face cream and batteries in his jacket. The items were valued at $216. Kincaid was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis and released on his own recognizance.

Propane leak reported: McDonald police were called Thursday to Costy’s Energy Service, 8589 Roman Lane, Robinson, for a report of a propane leak. Midway firefighters were unable to detect a leak, and employees were directed to contact a technician.

Assault arrest: Ronald Dupain, 44, of 14 Second Ave., Slovan, turned himself in to Smith police Sunday on charges stemming from a domestic dispute Thursday at his home. Dupain is accused of dragging his daughter through the home and shoving her across a computer desk. He then allegedly grabbed the left arm and wrist of his wife, twisting it. He also allegedly threatened to kill them if police were called. He was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis on two counts each of simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats. He was placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.

Driver crashes: Douglas M. Ranegar, 34, of Washington, escaped injury Saturday when his vehicle struck an embankment at the intersection of Brownlee and Young roads, Somerset. State police said charges are pending the results of blood-alcohol tests.

Rig crashes: Traffic on Interstate 70 eastbound was backed up for about four hours Sunday morning after a tractor-trailer crashed into a guardrail. State police said Daniel Nacey, 21, of Delmont, was driving the rig for Halliburton. He merged onto I-70 from Interstate 79 southbound about 8 a.m. when he crashed. He will be cited with failure to drive at a safe speed.

Vehicle damaged: Erin Komley of Pittsburgh told South Strabane police Sunday the front passenger window of her car was broken and the contents of her vehicle were gone through while the vehicle was parked at Tanger Outlets.

Retail theft arrest: Miranda Westfall, 32, of Clarksburg, W.Va., was arrested Friday by South Strabane police after she allegedly was seen by security at Walmart, Trinity Point, putting items valued at $768 into a tote she was carrying. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. Charges are pending against a woman who accompanied her to the store.

Warrant arrest: Trevor Smith, 31, of 439 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was placed in Washington County jail on a bench warrant after Washington police said they spotted him walking near Berthel Avenue with about 480 feet of copper wire. Police said he later admitted he stole the wire from Tri-State Supply. Charges are pending in the theft case.

DUI alleged in crash: Kenneth Riser, 56, of 920 Summerlea Ave., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with driving under the influence of alcohol after he allegedly hit a parked car in the 1100 block of Summerlea Saturday. Police said his blood-alcohol content was more than three times the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication.

Pagers, satellite stolen: John Friend of 902 Chartiers St. told Washington police Saturday two pagers owned by Canton Township Volunteer Fire Company, a satellite dish, wedding band, engagement ring and scanner were stolen from his home.

Attempted burglary: Glass was broken in an apparent attempt Saturday to break into EZ Cash, 110 Highland Ave., Washington police said.

Truck damaged: Phillip Russell of 896 W. Chestnut St. told Washington police Friday the quarter panels on his pickup truck were damaged by vandals.

Faces charges: Benjamin Volle, 23, of 796 Addison St., faces charges including possession of suspected heroin after police said they found him with four stamp bags at his home Friday. He was wanted on a warrant in Allegheny County. Police said they went to his bedroom, and he was stopped before he could climb out a window. He was placed in Washington County jail on the warrant.
