Fredericktown woman injured in Friday crash
A Fredericktown woman was identified Tuesday by state police as the driver of a car struck by a commercial truck last week in Beallsville.
Danielle M. Salva, 25, was driving north on Maiden Street about 8:20 a.m. Friday at the intersection with Main Street (Route 40) when her vehicle was struck by the truck driven by Bruce Mayer, 27, of 22 Townsite Road, Langeloth, which was traveling east on Main.
State police said Salva had the green light and Mayer reportedly failed to stop at the intersection. The truck hit her vehicle in the middle of the intersection at the driver’s side door.
Salva had to be extricated from the wreckage by Richeyville and Bentleyville firefighters. She was flown to UPMC, Presbyterian hospital for treatment of what state police described as major injuries.
Route 40 was closed for about four hours while the wreckage was removed and accident scene investigated.
