Man sentenced on fourth-offense DUI
WAYNESBURG – A Uniontown man who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, his fourth offense in 10 years, was sentenced last week by Greene County Judge Farley Toothman to one to five years in prison.
Roger Jefferson Weygandt, 27, of 1108 Charles Lane was arrested by Cumberland Township police Nov. 13, 2013. He had a blood-alcohol content of 0.145 percent.
Weygandt pleaded guilty July 15 to DUI, driving while his operating privileges were suspended or revoked and driving on the wrong side of the roadway.
In addition to the prison sentence, Weygandt was fined $2,025. He was given credit for time served, or 62 days.
In cases, Robert Lewis Strickler, 47, of 313 Third St., Mather, who pleaded guilty in two cases, was re-sentenced last week after being found in violation of the county intermediate punishment program.
Stricker pleaded guilty to resisting arrest for an incident Jan. 13, 2012, during which time he resisted police who were attempting to arrest him following a domestic dispute at his home.
He also pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and criminal trespass for an incident in Waynesburg March 19, 2012, during which he fled from police after causing a disturbance and was found hiding in an enclosed carport.
Strickler was sentenced to 25 months to 60 months in prison and fined $300. He was given credit for the 25 months he has already served in jail.
Lonnie Daniel Miller, 41, of 141 McCracken Road, Wind Ridge, was sentenced to one year of probation and fined $750 after pleading guilty to simple assault and no contest to harassment and criminal mischief.
Miller assaulted his ex-partner Sept. 7 at his home, punching her in the face, dragging her from her car and pushing her to the ground. He also broke the side mirror on the woman’s car.
