Civic club honors art winners

CARMICHAELS – The Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club recently recognized the 2015 “The Arts Cupboard” art contest winners at its February meeting.

The contest was open to students in the Carmichaels Area School District and the winners are as follows:

First place: division 1, Bailey Barnyak; division 2, Emily Swestyn; division 3, Remmey Lohr; and division 4, Madison Wilson.

Second place: division 1, Chloe Mitchell; division 2, Jacob Fordyce; and division 4, Danielle McClellan.

Third place: division 1, Mercedes Baily, and division 2, Mia Swestyn.

First place: category 1, Chloe Mitchell; category 2, Beth Cree; and category 3, Brittney Pollock.

Second place: category 3, Megan O’Neil

First place: category 1, Ani Cree; category 2, Ainsley Chadwick; category 3, Joey Kurincak; and category 4, Mollie Ehrlichman.

Second place: category 2, Dominick Petrucci; category 3, Matthew Barrish, and category 4, Kaleb Wilson.

Third place: category 3, Matthew Kloska; and category 4, Ethan Hennessey.

Each winner received a certificate, ribbon and monetary prize.

All first-place entries advanced to the district level competition and will be judged March 14 in Freeport.
