W.Va. man admits threats against U.S. Sen. Manchin

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – A 50-year-old West Virginia man pleaded guilty to threatening to kill U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin.

Steven Anthony Major of Barboursville entered his plea Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Charleston, according to court records. He faces up to 10 years in federal prison at his sentencing May 27.

Major made four separate threats against Manchin in 2014. The threats were made in telephone calls to Manchin’s Charleston and Washington offices.
