Charleroi man to stand trial for fire
A Charleroi man accused of setting fire to two pieces of paper at his apartment in July waived his case to court Wednesday after the more serious charge of arson was withdrawn by the prosecution.
Andrew Wrublesky, 21, of 251 Ninth St., will stand trial on charges of reckless endangerment, false reports and dangerous burning stemming from the July 13 fire at the Char House. Charges of causing or risking a catastrophe, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief also were withdrawn. He was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Central Court before District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Wrublesky reportedly told Charleroi Regional police that another person set the fire.
Wrublesky remains free on his own recognizance.
