MONONGAHELA – A Monongahela man faces charges he threatened to kill his father with mounted antlers during a disagreement in their home last week.

Arthur P. Benoit III, 26, of 452 Hudson Ave., was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging him with making terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief, court records state

Police said Benoit admitted to having been angry at his father, Andrew Benoit Jr., because the elder Benoit refused to get out of bed about 10 a.m. Feb. 17, police stated in the affidavit.

The younger Benoit is accused of breaking his father’s wheelchair and cellphone, and also striking him several times in the legs and head, the record indicates.

At one point, police said the defendant stood over his father with a pen and threatened to use it to kill him.

Police took the younger Benoit to an area hospital for an evaluation that morning.

He was placed Wednesday in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
