Man accused of dog-fighting faces more charges
AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say an Ohio man arrested in November in connection with a suspected dog-fighting ring was arrested again after animal-control officers raided his home and found six dogs in bad shape.
Fifty-three-year-old Robbie Hollis was charged with six misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty after the officers said they found the dogs at his home in poor physical shape and living in unsanitary conditions on Dec. 24.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports that he’s due in court Tuesday. No attorney information was available.
The officers said the five pit bulls and a German shepherd-mix were living outdoors without access to food or fresh water.
Hollis was among 47 people arrested Nov. 15 as part of a suspected dog-fighting ring. He has pleaded not-guilty to one count of felony dog fighting.
