High rates of homelessness, joblessness and suicide plague the troops after returning home from overseas.
A 2014 Department of Veteran’s Affairs scandal revealed problems veterans face when seeking medical care. But other problems exist, including long wait times to receive GI Bill benefits and the Basic Allowance for Housing, high jobless rates and frequent reports of post-traumatic stress disorder.
