False information charge: Adam Joseph Farabaugh, 25, of Canonsburg, was charged Monday by California police with unsworn falsification and illegal gun transfer after he allegedly provided false information on an application while trying to purchase a gun from Pfrogner’s Firearms, 317 N. California Drive, California, Dec. 10. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Tires flattened: James Craven of Butler, Mo., told Canonsburg police Saturday tires on his vehicle were flattened while the vehicle was parked outside 426 Highland Ave.

Two injured: Miranda K. McGrady, 19, of 69 Franklin St., Cokeburg, and her passenger, Scott R. Anthony Jr., 25, of 960 E. Maiden St., Washington, were injured Friday when their vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Douglas T. Allen, 50, of Vista Drive, Canonsburg, at Adams Avenue and Morganza Road. Canonsburg police will charge Allen with going through a red light.

Retail theft charge: Samantha Lee Peterson, 27, of 1062 Findlay St., Canton Township, was charged last week by Canonsburg police with misdemeanor retail theft for allegedly stealing items from Shop ‘n Save, 617 W. Pike St., Dec. 18. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Drug charges: Harry T. Wilson, 29, of 28 Bowen Road, McDonald, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge David Mark on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession of paraphernalia. Canonsburg police said he sold the drug to a confidential informant and undercover officer in a parking lot in the 500 block of West Pike Street Aug. 14. He was released on his own recognizance.

Assault charge: Jennifer M. Hayes, 31, of 21 Orchard St., Muse, is charged by township police with simple assault and harassment, accused of scratching her husband, Matthew Hayes, on his arms, chest, back and forehead, biting his forearms and injuring his genitals about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in their home, township police stated in court records. Police said she also grabbed her revolver but never took it out of its case or pointed it at her husband. She is free on $25,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Man jailed: Chaz King, 28, of 817 Lookout Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with making terroristic threats, simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, court records state. King is accused of punching Crystal Williams three times in the head and threatening to have someone “take care” of her about 6 p.m. Sunday in his apartment. He is in Washington County jail on $30,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Fight charges: California police charged five people in connection with a Dec. 21 fight at 186 Dally Road, Long Branch. Police were called about 2:40 a.m. for a fight involving 10 to 15 people that began on North California Drive and ended at the home on Dally. Lisa M. Altschaffi, 44, of Coal Center, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without lights to avoid detection. Edward Lee Wood, 49, of Coal Center, was charged with furnishing alcohol to minors and disorderly conduct. Beau Wood, 22, of Coal Center, was charged with furnishing alcohol to minors, harassment and disorderly conduct. Alexis Morosky, 19, of Coal Center, and John Altmiller, 24, of McKeesport, were each charged with disorderly conduct. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.

Firearms violations alleged: Ivan Alvin Prigett, 21, of 209 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, was charged by McDonald police with carrying a firearm without a license, having a prohibited weapon, carrying a loaded weapon and traffic violations stemming from a traffic stop Friday night on Fannie Street. After initially telling police he had no weapons, he admitted to having a gun in his book bag, police said. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.

DUI arrest: Charles James Foley Jr., 26, of 132 Foley Road, Bulger, was charged Monday by McDonald police with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and obscuring his license plate after police said they spotted him driving over the sidewalk and curb in the 200 block of Station Street Dec. 27. Police said his blood-alcohol content was almost double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.

Mischief, disorderly charges: Joshua Ralston, 31, of 1224 Sunnybrook Drive, North Franklin, will be charged by North Franklin police with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after he allegedly cut and stole copper from a downed light post in the traffic island on North Ring Road, Washington Crown Center, Friday. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Retail theft charge: Thelma L. Turner, 52, of 550 Maple Terrace, Washington, was charged last week by North Franklin police with misdemeanor retail theft for allegedly stealing items valued at $791 from Macy’s, Washington Crown Center, Dec. 30. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Harassment charge: Dave William Burrows, 56, of 741 Cleveland Road, North Franklin, was charged by North Franklin police with harassment for allegedly punching his son, William E. Burrows, 30, in the face Dec. 23 during a confrontation at their home.

Credit card stolen: Mildred Sperandio of Daisytown told North Franklin police her Macy’s credit card was stolen and used to make purchases at a Home Depot. She believes the card was stolen in the middle of last month while she was shopping at Macy’s, Washington Crown Center. She learned of the theft after she was contacted by Home Depot.

Burglary reported: North Franklin police discovered Shuey’s Cleaners, 1146 W. Chestnut St., was burglarized Dec. 24 after spotting a broken window. A store employee told police $70 was stolen.

DUI alleged in accident: Nicholas V. Arribas, 19, of Druid Drive, McMurray, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol Saturday after flipping his black Dodge station wagon while attempting a right turn at the BP service station on Washington Road. Police said Arribas crashed into a car driven by Daryle Sterner, 53, of Fell Street, Belle Vernon, who was not injured. Police said Arribas, who also was not injured, attempted to crawl away from his vehicle but was stopped by officers who detected a strong odor of alcohol on him. He was arrested at the scene.

Vandalism: The base of a light-up snowman outside 200 Fox Run Drive, McMurray, was reported damaged Saturday. Value of the snowman is $50.

Two charged: Maria Lynn Frabell, 27, of 173 Caldwell Ave., Canton Township, and Jeff W. Irwin, 29, of 3 Liberty St., Washington, were charged by South Strabane police with retail theft in connection with the theft of items from Wal-Mart, Trinity Point, Dec. 29. Frabell also is charged with possession of heroin and paraphernalia, while Irwin also is charged with possession of paraphernalia.

Warrant arrest: William S. Helmick, 43, of Canonsburg, was arrested Sunday on a bench warrant as well as an arrest warrant obtained by South Strabane police on charges of retail theft and conspiracy. He was wanted for allegedly stealing items from Wal-Mart, Trinity Point, June 13. He was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Package stolen: Ashton Mamula of 1165 N. Main St. told South Strabane police Saturday a package delivered by a postal carrier Dec. 26 was stolen from outside her home. She told police the package contained a pair of L.L. Bean boots.

Two face charges: South Strabane police will charge Glenn E. Davis Jr., 24, of Washington, and Courtney R. Dixon, 22, of 524 W. Pike St., Houston, with possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana after officers were called to Motel 6, 1283 Motel 6 Drive, Sunday. Davis was placed in Washington County jail on a state parole violation.

Driveway damaged: Yvette Morrell of Scenery Hill told South Strabane police Sunday vandals used green and blue paint to put graffiti on a driveway at 235 Sanitarium Road.

Trespass charge: David Waychoff, 36, of Washington, was charged Monday by state police with trespass after he allegedly went to state police property Dec. 6 to look for his vehicle, which had been impounded by troopers.

Theft charge: Marcelen Newman, 35, of 380 Donnan Ave., Washington, was charged by city police with theft for allegedly stealing $1,847 from Metro PCS on North Main Street while employed there between Nov. 21 and Nov. 23 last year.

Access fraud: A man reported to city police $400 was withdrawn through use of his stolen debit card between Dec. 3 and Jan. 2.

Theft: A man reported to city police $40 was stolen from his residence on West Walnut Street.

Access fraud: A woman reported to city police $1,000 was fraudulently withdrawn by someone using her debit card between Dec. 20 and Jan. 3.

Assault charge: Corey J. Miller, 27, of 1108 Maple Terrace, was placed in Washington County jail Sunday on $25,000 bond on charges of simple assault, harassment and resisting arrest. City police said he spit on, punched and choked Tiffany Stone at their residence Sunday. He was arraigned by District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Access fraud: A man reported to city police his SSI debit card was fraudulently used at the Uni-Mart on East Maiden Street between Jan. 1 and Jan. 4.

Vandalism: A man reported to city police the tires on three of his vehicles were slashed overnight Saturday while they were parked in a lot in the 400 block of Henderson Avenue.

Gambling violation alleged: The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement filed a citation against Gabby’s Quick 6, 20 Cumberland Ave., Washington, alleging the business had gambling devices. The charge will be brought before an administrative law judge.
