1 min read

MONESSEN (AP) – Police were trying to figure out how two people were shot near a Western Pennsylvania social club and why they decided to drive themselves about 25 miles to a hospital for treatment.

Police in Monessen have confirmed the shooting early Monday, and say they believe it occurred near the Elks Lodge.

Police say one victim was shot in the leg and the other in the groin.

Mon Valley Hospital in Monongahela is about 10 miles away, but the victims instead drove to Washington Hospital, about 25 miles away.

Police have not released the names of the victims, nor said whether they have any suspects.
