Three arrested on drug charges in New Eagle
Three Fayette County residents were arrested Saturday in New Eagle by Monongahela police on drug charges.
Katelyn Jo Oldham, 24, and Jeremiah Diggs, 23, both of Perryopolis, and Rebecca Gatalicia, 23, of Fayette City, were charged with seven counts each of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and one count each of possession of paraphernalia. Gatalicia is also charged with a traffic violation.
Police Chief Brian Tempest said that officers stopped a car for a traffic violation in the 100 block of Main Street about 12:30 p.m. after noticing it driving around the block in an area known for drug activity.
After the vehicle was stopped, police found Diggs with a loaded syringe in the right front pocket of his pants. Diggs was a backseat passenger in the vehicle.
Under the front passenger seat where Oldham had been sitting, police found 10 used syringes in a bag. Police found 70 stamp bags of suspected heroin in the console of the car. Five needles, three empty stamp bags and a spoon where found under the driver’s seat of the car.
All three were arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bonds. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 15 before District Judge Mark Wilson.
