Police beat Jan. 7

Terroristic threats: State police arrested Robert William Treece, 43, no address given, for allegedly calling the Cumberland Township police department at 2 p.m. Jan. 3 and making specific threats against two of its officers. Treece was arraigned before District Judge Glenn Bates and committed to the Greene County jail pending a preliminary hearing.

Criminal mischief: Belinda Haggerty told state police someone dented the hatch of her Chevy Venture between 8 and 8:15 p.m. Monday while it was disabled along Route 21 in East view.

No injuries: A New Freeport man escaped injury at 6:30 p.m. Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle and sruck an embankment and a guardrail while traveling north on Route 18 near Golden Oaks Road. Police identified the driver of the vehicle as Allen Chess, 18.
