Correction
One fire at the NV-55 production unit operated by CNX Gas in Morris Township occurred Dec. 22 resulting in a notice of violation from the state Department of Environmental Protection. Two other fires occurred at CNX production wells in Center Township, Greene County – one at GH11CV in July 2014 that resulted in a citation, and another at McQuay in September 2013. DEP officials said a “miscommunication” within the department led to the incorrect information that all three incidents happened at the same site, which was reported in a story in Tuesday’s edition.
