Police: Greene man charged for firing gun following argument
CARMICHAELS – Cumberland Township police filed charges against a Carmichaels man for allegedly firing a gun while at a residence on Crucible Road Dec. 28.
The caller, Stephanie Rivera, told police Gregory Keith Grim Jr., 26, of 27 Route 88 Mobile Home Park, arrived at the residence at 127 Crucible Road, visibly intoxicated. Rivera said Grim began to argue with Elizabeth Frazier, his ex-girlfriend.
The arguing continued and Frazier took Grim’s keys to keep him from driving but this made him more upset and he left on a quad parked outside, according to Rivera’s statement.
When he returned a short time later, Grim allegedly called Frazier obscenities in front of her child, walked onto the porch and pointed a pistol toward his head. Police said Frazier and Rivera told them they heard a single gunshot and Grim fell to the porch.
According to the complaint, Frazier ran outside to check on Grim and saw the pistol lying on the porch with the slide locked back. She told police she picked it up and handed it to Rivera, who hid it.
Frazier helped Grim up and into the residence where he overheard Rivera on the phone with 911, prompting him to lock himself inside a bedroom. Frazier told police by the time she was able to enter the room she saw Grim climbing out of the window and fleeing the scene.
State police, who assisted in the search for Grim, found him hiding inside a trailer on the property and took him into custody without further incident.
A 9 mm shell casing from Grim’s pistol was found on the front porch of the residence.
Grim, whose blood-alcohol content was 0.157 percent, was arrested and charged with recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and harassment. He was released on $1,000 straight cash bond.
A preliminary hearing scheduled Wednesday before Greene County Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson has been continued.
