AG: Montour teacher sold heroin from home

1 min read

MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. (AP) — The state attorney general has charged a high school special education teacher with selling heroin from his western Pennsylvania home.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Montour High School teacher Charles Schaldenbrand, who didn’t answer his home phone. His voice mail was full and unable to receive additional messages after his arrest Thursday.

School district solicitor Ira Weiss says the 44-year-old teacher was placed on paid suspension earlier this week after district officials were notified of the drug investigation. Weiss says there’s no evidence that Schaldenbrand possessed or sold drugs on school property.

A criminal complaint says undercover agents used a confidential information to make two purchases of heroin from the suspect for $350.

Schaldenbrand faces a preliminary hearing Jan. 13.
