Patriot Coal moves headquarters to West Virginia

1 min read

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Patriot Coal Co. says it has moved its headquarters from St. Louis to West Virginia.

The coal producer says the move to Scott Depot was effective last week.

Patriot’s president and CEO, Bennett Hatfield, says the location shift will cut the company’s administrative costs and put the headquarters closer to Patriot’s mining operations and customers.

He says the transition began in November.

Patriot has eight mining complexes in northern and central Appalachia.

The company emerged from bankruptcy in 2012.
