Fire mostly out after Ohio refinery explosion

1 min read

LIMA – A fire that broke out after an explosion at an oil refinery in Ohio has been mostly put out.

A plant spokesman says crews are continuing to monitor the site for flare ups but they believe it’s under control.

The explosion Saturday morning at the Husky Lima Refinery broke windows in neighboring homes and could be felt at least 10 miles away.

Police in Lima say no one was hurt and all of the workers were accounted for.

The refinery operator says it’s too early to assess the damage or say how production will be impacted.

The state’s Environmental Protection Agency says tests of the air around the plant haven’t detected anything hazardous so far.
