A fire Sunday in a chimney spread to the basement and a bedroom of a house in North Franklin Township.

No one was injured in the 5 p.m. fire at the 1254 Overlook Drive home of Erica Kolat, but it resulted in the power being disconnected to the residence, North Franklin fire Chief Dave Bane said.

Bane said no one was injured in the fire.

Firefighters were summoned back to the house to investigate smoke Monday morning, but it was nothing more than steam coming off the hot water tank, he said.

Assisting Sunday were firefighters from Washington and Canton, South Franklin and South Strabane townships.
